Today's lesson was a little different than usual and we did some fun review activities. They had a great brain workout doing the C major and F major cadences on the keyboard, worked together on a theory quiz, had fun with the Skaters puppet show, and more!

The following week is Station Day! As you may remember from last year, Station Day is a unique class where I will have a circuit of musical stations that you and your child will rotate through. Each station will review the skills and concepts taught in class. One of the stations will be an 'interview' with me to show you how much your student has accomplished this fall! This will also be the special day when your child can spend their music money on prizes at my music store! 

Station Day is the last day of the Purple Magic semester and we'll have a long break for the holidays. Orange Roots  semester starts on January 14th. If you are the planning type, you can check out the Orange Roots calendar below. (It will also be taped to your child's Orange Roots homework booklet.)

Skaters

Like our previous puppet show, Skaters (Banditen Galopp by Johann Strauss) has 2 distinct sections and follows the classic ABA form. Listen for the Main Theme (A section-skaters/fallers) and the Lyric Theme (B section- specifically the girl who never falls). There is also a repeat at the end of the B section. (“Dot-dot-do-it-again.”)
