Reminder - No class next week for Spring Break! I'll see your kids in class again on March 25th
We learned and played a lot in Lesson #9 - - phew!! Kids learned the G major scale (...and the F-sharp is a TI) and we reviewed the A minor scale and cadence today. Our new puppet show, The Circus, is in ABA form and we learned some new terms - introduction, bridge, and coda. As your kids are practicing their compositions and thinking about how they'd like to finish them, they could incorporate an introduction or a coda and they could think about the form their composition is going to be. Echo Edison musical questions and answers can also help with ideas for their composition.
As I mentioned in last week's email, March is Let's Play Music Spirit Month and the Let's Play Music company is hosting weekly prizes all month long on their Instagram @letsplaymusic_official. Today we celebrated our Let's Play Music Spirit in class and I introduced a studio contest! Fill out the Contest Google Form to enter the contest. There are four fields you can fill in and each one is an entry to the contest. You have until Friday March 28th to enter and I'll announce the winner on Monday March 31st. The prize is a Yoto Mini mp3 Player and a card preloaded with the album soundtrack for the LPM semester your child is in right now!!
I am so grateful to each of you for being a part of my studio! I love teaching your kids and I feel so lucky to teach this incredible program to them. I love Let's Play Music because it ingeniously teaches music in an age-appropriate way infusing play, fun, confidence building, and so much more. Keep feeling and sharing the love of Let's Play Music this month and share that love with your friends. Most people find out about Let's Play Music from their friends so please reach out to friends you feel would love this program. Below you'll find info on the studio contest as well as info on the national contest. (Click the picture!)
Bagatelle Bridges
This repertoire piece has all the elements that we've learned about in our puppet shows! It has an introduction, a CODA (special ending) and it has 2 BRIDGES. We will actually learn the theme in C Major and then we will get to show off our transposing skills to play it in F and G.
G Major Scale
This is the last of the major scales we will learn during our time in Let's Play Music. All of our scales have taught us finger technique and strength, but also allowed us to understand key signatures and scale compositions. Just as our Magic Keys Song will tell us, Do is G because the F# is a ti-- so don't forget to play that F# on ti!!!
Even Disney's Aristocats know how important it is to practice their scales (and arpeggios)!

I value open and honest communication so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
Thank you!
