Hello! Class this last week was a lot of fun and I'm so excited for the year ahead of us. I have such a great group of kids in each class. We focused a lot on learning names, some simple rules, and how we find our sit spot and box of instruments. Of course we also marched, danced with scarves, and did a coloring page. (I keep these coloring pages and then give them back to the kids in a little semester booklet at our Christmas party so don't worry that your child didn't come home with it). Over the next few weeks the kids will solidify their sense of the rhythm and routine of our lessons. September is a great month of transition and learning for these kiddos and I strive to keep music class predictable, fun, but also a place to feel some calm in the middle of their day.

I will be sending out an email with a link to a newsletter about once a month summarizing some of the things your children have experienced in music class. We play and sing a lot in class, but there is purpose behind the play! One of my values in teaching young children music is involving their parents in what they are learning and helping families magnify the presence of music in their homes. I have made a Spotify playlist of music we will be be hearing in class for this first half of the year. Feel free to listen at home or in the car with your little one. It can be very exciting when a child hears a song they recognize in class because they've heard it while playing at home or driving around town. This playlist will grow as I finalize lesson plans for the rest of this sesmester.

• Tuition invoices will be emailed on October 5th. I will be meeting with those that chose to pay monthly individually to get card information so you can be automatically charged Oct-Apr. Those that chose to pay for the year will need to pay the invoice emailed out within a week of receiving it.
