The Bridge Program was created by a Let's Play Music teacher named Lily Hight and has been nicknamed "the 4th year of Let's Play Music". It continues and broadens the music theory kids were learning in the 3rd year of Let's Play Music and offers a great opportunity to continue building keyboard skills in a group setting where students continue to learn alongside peers.Â
There are 30 lessons in the Bridge Program and many teachers teach the program weekly in one hour lessons during the span of one school year. I will, however, be teaching the Bridge Program weekly in one hour lessons in two school years instead of one. I will still use the 30 lessons as the backbone of the curriculum, but will take 2 weeks for each lesson's material. I am doing this to give enough time to digest the material and keep practicing at home to about 20 minutes a day for 5 days a week. I will also use time during the lesson to have a mini private lesson with each kid to give them separate repertoire according to their individual needs. This way, not only are the students receiving the benefit of a fun, activity-filled, music theory group class, but they'll also get individualized focus on their keyboard skills like they would get with a private teacher. I will hold four recitals for my Bridge Program students throughout the two years (in December and May). A calendar with dates will be sent after registering.
Classes will be one hour long and parents will not be required to attend. Tuition will be $100/month or $400/semester. This will not be due until classes begin.
